An 18th Century Silver Handled Basket Sword sold for £19,800 at Lincoln’s Unique Auctions New Years Day auction. The London hallmarked sword with Jacobite connections belonging to a local Lincolnshire gentleman attracted interested and bidders from all around the world.
The sword received a great deal of interest with the auction room handling 6 telephone bids, many online bidders on two auction platforms, numerous commission bids and bidders in the room. After several minutes of bidding the sword eventually sold in the room.
